Liverpool could be set to complete an astonishing deal which would see Philippe Coutinho return to Anfield.
The little magician has agreed on a return to his former club on a two-year loan, with the option of an £88 million transfer at any point, according to Calciomercato.
Coutinho has lost his way at Barcelona.
Since arriving at the Nou Camp he has scored just 21 goals and registered 11 assists in 76 appearances.
His return to Merseyside could be coated in controversy, however.
Coutinho wasn’t shy in making his attentions to sign for the Spanish giants clear and some Liverpool fans won’t forget that.

During his five year spell at Anfield between 2013 and 2018, he netted 54 goals and registered 45 assists from 201 appearances.
In terms of quality, his presence back at Anfield could have a massive bearing on whether or not Liverpool can claim the Premier League title.
The Brazilian still possesses bucket loads of quality and the key for him is to start playing regular football once again.
