‘Bring him home’: Liverpool fans react as fan favourite is linked with Anfield return

Liverpool could find themselves in the market for a new goalkeeper this summer and Goal think that Pepe Reina is one of the club’s targets.

The Reds will probably offload Simon Mignolet who is available for £15 million, according to the Daily Mail, and that will mean backup is required for Alisson Becker.

Spanish custodian Reina is a Liverpool stalwart. In nine years with the club, he made 396 appearances, winning two trophies along the way.

Right now he is down the pecking order at AC Milan. He featured just 11 times during 2018/19 and although he has two years left on his contract, it seems unlikely they will command a massive transfer fee.

Reina is still a safe pair of hands and his experience could be a vital asset to a young Liverpool dressing room.

A firm fan favourite at Anfield, news of his potential return has led to some fans getting rather excited about the Spaniard’s homecoming.

Of course, a deal to see the Spain international return to the Premier League is some way off, but the Reds supporters have already started speculating on Twitter whether or not he’d be a decent signing.
