Liverpool on red alert as Kingsley Coman is tipped for Bayern Munich exit
Liverpool could be set to make a sensational move for Kingsley Coman.
The French winger has been tipped to leave Bayern Munich in the summer.
That is at least according. to Christian Nerlinger, Bayern’s former Sporting Director (via the Daily Mirror).
Nerlinger particularly highlighted Bayern’s tendency to lose players on free transfers.
That’s a trend that the German superclub will be keen to move away from and it could see Coman leave next summer.
Over the summer it was reported that Liverpool wanted to make a move for the 25-year-old.
However, Bayern’s asking price of £86m that was set over the summer put the Reds off (The Metro).
That sort of money would have made Coman Liverpool’s record signing if he’d have made the move to Anfield.
In Mo Salah and Sadio Mane the Reds have two of the best wingers in the world.
Adding Coman as another fantastic winger would only make Liverpool an even scarier beast.
Coman has shown time and time again what he’s capable of.
He famously scored the winner in the 2020 Champions League final against PSG.
Although that was just one of his 41 goals and 50 assists over 204 games for the Bavarians (Transfermarkt).
One thing that Liverpool weren’t able to do over the summer was add strength in depth in attacking areas.
The only signing that Jurgen Klopp made over the summer was Ibrahima Konate coming in from RB Leipzig.
Meanwhile, Xherdan Shaqiri and Georginio Wijnaldum left the club and Harvey Elliott has been struck down with injury.
That’s left the Reds short with few options for rotation.
Coman’s signing would change that and give Klopp the opportunity to offer more of a break to Salah and Mane.
However, Bayern would have to drop their asking price if Liverpool are to get this one done.
