Liverpool have reportedly made Franck Kessie a contract offer worth around £7million a year.

This is according to esteemed journalist Claudio Raimondi, speaking to Sport Mediaset.

As well as the Reds, the likes of Arsenal and Spurs reportedly want Kessie too.

But Milan are seemingly desperate to tie the 24-year-old down to a new long-term contract.

Gazzetta dello Sport suggests they want to try and reach an agreement over a new deal upon his return from the 2020 Olympics.

Kessie scored the winner for Ivory Coast in their Group D opener against Saudi Arabia.

“Liverpool are being serious”

When asked about Kessie’s future, Raimondi replied: “Liverpool are being serious.

“They’re offering a lot in terms of salary, especially given his contract’s expiring (next summer).

“They’ve offered 8m euros (around £7m). Milan would like to get there offering 6m euros at most.

“It’s clear that after the Donnarumma and Calhanoglu situations, there’s tension amongst Rossoneri fans.

“But talks are planned with Kessie’s camp next week and there aren’t any signs he wants to leave the club.”

Liverpool eyeing “extraordinary” midfielder?

Kessie has been superb for Milan since joining from Atalanta in 2019 for a reported £21.6m.

He has clocked up 184 appearances for the Rossoneri and registered 30 goals and 15 assists.

Gennaro Gattuso, a top midfield enforcer in his playing days, is a big fan of the Ivorian.

“Kessie is clearly stronger than me when I was a player,” Forza Italian Football quoted him as saying in 2018.

“He has seven or eight goals per season in him.”

And Vincenzo Montella, who previously managed Milan, described Kessie as “extraordinary” in 2017.

“He (Kessie) is an extraordinary player, (boasts) sublime intelligence,” Montella told Goal.com.
