Liverpool are looking to the AFCON as they look to add to their squad and have identified Bilal El-Khannouss as a player of interest.
The Reds have had success in the African market in the past having had bot Sadio Mane and Mo Salah excel at Anfield in recent years. Joel Matip has also been a big star for Liverpool, albeit Naby Keita’s time with the club never quite worked out.
And now, it looks like Liverpool could be ready to strike for another top African talent, this time in the form of Morocco star, El-Khannouss.
Liverpool want to sign Bilal El-Khannouss.
According to the Daily Mail’s latest Transfer Confidential newsletter, Liverpool have joined an ever-growing list of clubs who are keen on the young midfielder.
El-Khannouss is already a regular for Genk at just 19 and has featured in both of Morocco’s games in the current AFCON tournament.

Valued at around the £11m mark, The Mail describes El-Khannouss as one of the best talents in his country at the moment.
The Reds are no expected to make any major plays for new players in the coming week before the window ends.
However, FSG and Klopp are constantly on the lookout for young talent to strengthen the ranks and El-Khannouss could be a target in the summer.
Looking to the future
Any signings made this month by Liverpool will need to be able to impact the first-team immediately.
However, the Reds still need to make sure they’re investing in their future and El-Khannouss very much looks like another top talent emerging out of Africa.
Already playing for the Moroccan first-team at such a young age is a big step in itself and it’s clear Genk have a talent on their hands.
Liverpool are a good place for young players as well. Klopp will give people a chance if he feels they’re good enough and we’ve seen that this season with the likes of Connor Bradley and Jarrell Quansah.
