Liverpool played their part in one of the greatest Champions League comebacks of all time last night. The Reds defeated Barcelona 4-0 at Anfield to secure a 4-3 win on aggregate and reach their second successive final.
It won’t be long before Jurgen Klopp sees the season draw to a close and attention will turn towards the summer. The squad at Liverpool is already brilliant but some tweaks will be necessary.
News emerged yesterday courtesy of Corriere dello Sport, as quoted by Sport Witness, that Newcastle star Ayoze Perez could be available for £25 million.

The Spaniard has been in stunning form for the Magpies this season netting 12 goals and contributing four assists. His performances since the turn of the year have been particularly impressive.
It sounds strange to say given they have lost just once this season, but Liverpool are light in attack. Injuries to Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino saw Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi deputise last night. Okay, so both did pretty well, but they’d require better in the event of a long-term injury.
Perez would offer them that upgrade and 25 he still has many years ahead of him. A creative spark in the final third is something that Klopp would dearly like to add this summer and Perez would fit the criteria perfectly.

At £25 million, the Newcastle man is a risk worth taking. Other targets would probably cost a lot more, whilst they might not come with the level of Premier League experience that Perez possesses.
