Atletico Madrid are keen on signing loaned out Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic. As reported by ESPN the Spanish side have been impressed with his performances at Hertha Berlin and want to bring him to the Wanda Metroplitano.

The same report also claims Liverpool will demand a fee in the region of €40 million (£34.5 million) for the Serbian.

If Liverpool can actually get anywhere near that amount for Grujic, then they have to snap Atletico’s hands off.

Grujic has been in good form since the turn of the year, after recovering from ankle ligament damage. However, if Liverpool can get anywhere near that much for him it would be remarkable considering stories that circulated in December.

The Sun was reporting that Liverpool were ready to sell Grujic in January for just £4.5 million. It was just after those reports that Grujic found fitness and form for the German capital club.

“I like the boy a lot. He has made progress like hell.

“I really see Marko in the future playing for Liverpool.”

Jurgen Klopp, as reported by the Liverpool Echo, is a fan of the player but earning that sort of money for a player who cost just £5.1 million (BBC Sport) in 2016 would be fantastic business. Given the fact he has struggled for consistency and made no real impact at Anfield, this deal would seem like a no-brainer.
