Liverpool spent well in the summer transfer window by breaking the British transfer record twice with the signings of Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak, alongside other additions.
But that shouldn’t stop them from signing one of Europe’s most prolific stars at the moment if they want to continue their trophy spree in the Premier League and beyond.
Manager Arne Slot managed to land Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak, alongside young talent Hugo Ekitike, speedy full-backs Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez as well as goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili among others.
But a small blip in form has highlighted other areas that need addressing, and Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo could be the perfect man to come into Liverpool’s squad after his roaring start to the Premier League season.

Antoine Semenyo’s Premier League form must surely tempt Liverpool into making an offer
Semenyo only signed for Bournemouth two-and-a-half years ago from Bristol City in what seemed like a low-key deal for the Cherries, and a slow start to his first half-season in the top-flight was uninspiring with one league goal in 11 outings.
But since then, the wide man has taken the Cherries to another level, not least this season.
Even prior to the current campaign, TBR Football confirmed Liverpool were in the hunt with Semenyo’s signature, with uncertainty surrounding Mohamed Salah’s future as his contract continued to run down.
And if the Reds are serious about the 25-year-old’s signature, they need to act fast. Already boasting nine goal contributions in just seven Premier League games, including Semenyo’s brace against Liverpool on the opening day of the season, he has been one of the best players in the Premier League.
It’s taken Bournemouth to fourth in the league table, just one point behind Liverpool and two points behind table toppers Arsenal.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 1 | 7 | 5 | 1 | 1 | 14 | 3 | 11 | 16 | |
| 2 | 7 | 5 | 0 | 2 | 13 | 9 | 4 | 15 | |
| 3 | 7 | 4 | 2 | 1 | 13 | 5 | 8 | 14 | |
| 4 | 7 | 4 | 2 | 1 | 11 | 8 | 3 | 14 |
It’s even seen Semenyo labelled as ‘remarkable’ by Opta for his contributions this season, and with previous interest, the Reds really need to ramp up their search for the Ghanaian international if they are to land one of Europe’s biggest upcoming stars.

Antoine Semenyo would be an ideal Mohamed Salah replacement for Liverpool
Semenyo’s best attribute is that he could be a great signing in the short-term and long-term, for two different reasons.
The sale of Colombian winger Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich earlier in the summer means that it’s Cody Gakpo and Rio Ngumoha competing for minutes on the left. Whilst Gakpo has filled in adequately, the Dutchman has not got the explosive pace Diaz boasts, and whilst Ngumoha has, he lacks the experience just yet.
Semenyo has starred on the left and right for Bournemouth this season, making him unpredictable, and that is a big reason for his involvement in goals on the south coast.
However, being able to fill in on the right makes him a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian scored 34 goals last season, and the Liverpool star finished fourth in the Ballon d’Or rankings to signify just how important he was.
But a drop off is likely for the 33-year-old at some point in his career. With Semenyo already having Premier League experience, and a physicality that makes him one of the best players in the league at present, the answer is staring the Reds right in the face when it comes to replacing their club legend.
