Liverpool must avoid Dele Alli repeat and snap up Andre Dozzell in January

The Ipswich Town midfielder was linked with a move to Liverpool back in 2016.

Reports in The Mirror this weekend have suggested that Ipswich Town midfielder Andre Dozzell is once again a wanted man. The 19-year-old midfield talent has just returned from a 13-month layoff after a serious knee injury. Despite his time out of the game, Tottenham and Arsenal have not got forgotten his talent and are said to be keen on the player. Spurs, where his father Jason Dozzell is a former player, are believed to be the favourites for his signature.

Another team who have been linked with him in the past are Liverpool. Back in 2016, the Reds were being linked with a £2 million move for the player, who decided it was best he remained with Ipswich for the time being.

Liverpool should certainly consider returning for the teenager to avoid missing out to Spurs for another potential future England star.

Dozzell’s style of play has been favourably compared to that of Tottenham and England star Dele Alli.

When Tottenham secured the £5 million signature of Alli from MK Dons in January 2015 they did so from under the noses of Liverpool, who felt they had got their man. Unfortunately, they failed to stump up the cash and Spurs managed to bring him in.

He has since gone on to establish himself as a Premier League star. Dozzell has the potential to do the same and Liverpool would love to get one over Spurs as their rivals once did with Alli.
