Liverpool beat Blackpool 7-2 in a pre-season friendly on Saturday, and the game threw up a glimpse of a potentially exciting new duo for the Reds.
Jurgen Klopp’s side came from 2-0 down to blow the League One Tangerines away at Anfield.
Goals came courtesy of Joel Matip, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Harvey Elliott, Takumi Minamino, Divock Origi and Sepp van den Berg, as the players went through the gears before next week’s opening Premier League game against Leeds United.

The Reds ran riot against their lower league opposition, and two attacking players in particular caught the eye.
Firmino and Minamino – both of whom got on the scoresheet – appeared to play with great understanding and set each other up to score..
Since signing in January, Minamino has had to be quite patient for opportunities – which is always the way it was going to go.
Klopp had no reason to change a team that had built up so much momentum, so Japan international Minamino had to make do with cameos here and there in 2019/20.

His cameo days might soon be over though if he can produce the goods in the Premier League – and Firmino might just help to bring the best out of him.
TBR’s View – An exciting new combo?
Liverpool fans were left purring on social media seeing how Minamino worked with Firmino in the final third.
It may have been ‘only Blackpool’, but the pair seemed to have a great connection with one another – something that hasn’t really had the chance to blossom thus far.
Minamino seems to work well around the edge of the box, so if he can keep close to Firmino, the pairing could throw up plenty of goals and assists in 2020/21.
