Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic has told Goal that he must aspire to be as good as the current crop of Liverpool midfield maestros if he is to make his mark on the first-team.
The Reds ace is currently out on loan with Hertha Berlin where he has been a regular in the team this season.
Grujic was Jurgen Klopp’s first signing back in 2016 but has managed just 14 first-team appearances.
The 23-year-old still has time on his side and is under contract at Anfield until 2023.

Grujic concedes that he knows what he must do in order to achieve his dream of becoming a regular in the Liverpool team.
He told Goal: “I want to improve every part of my game. Defending is a big part because when you look at Liverpool they defend like hell! Every player is fighting for every inch of the pitch, which is so impressive.
“Jordan, Gini, Fab, Milner – they are all huge role models for a player like me. The job they do is so underrated, and their levels are so high. They play with such intensity, every game. That is what I have to aspire to.
“Next season, who knows, hopefully, I am ready to jump up with the team. That is what I hope for.”
Grujic is playing under Jurgen Klinsmann at his temporary club and he has played in central midfield and as a holding midfielder in front of a back four.
It won’t be easy to win a place in Klopp’s team but all he can do is continue to impress this season.
The German boss is in contact with his first signing and he appreciates the messages of support from the Liverpool gaffer.
He continued: “It sounds small but for a young player it means a lot when he sends us a WhatsApp message after a good performance.”

Klopp has placed his faith in several youngsters this season and that could bode well when he returns to Anfield during the summer.
TBR Verdict – Liverpool chance for Grujic should be forthcoming
The £15,000-a-week (Spotrac) midfielder should look at the likes of Pedro Chirivella, Curtis Jones and Neco Williams as inspiration for next season.
Okay, he strives to be like the club’s big midfield guns but he needs to get himself into the team first.
Grujic’s versatility could help him. The eight-cap international can play as a defensive or attacking midfielder and that will certainly help him at Liverpool.
If he continues to shine at Olympiastadion for the remainder of this season then the future could be bright for the youngster at Anfield.
