Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has provided an injury update ahead of the weekend clash with Sheffield United.

The Reds have been boosted by the fact that Sadio Mane and Divock Origi both resumed full training with ‘no issues’ on Thursday after recent knocks (club’s official website).

Mane limped off late on against Chelsea last weekend, with Klopp describing the injury that impacted the player’s leg and knee as ‘an awful combination’ (Evening Standard).

Klopp’s update is sure to go down nicely with Reds supporters, who know Mane especially is in red-hot form at the moment.

Origi’s availability is most definitely a boost as well, with young Rhian Brewster having had a tough outing on his debut in midweek against MK Dons.

The German also confirmed that Xherdan Shaqiri will be unavailable, but does expect James Milner – who suffered a back issue in midweek – to be fit.

The Blades have given a good account of themselves so far in the Premier League under Chris Wilder and will be looking to cause an upset against the league leaders.

Mane playing will therefore be huge for Liverpool, who will obviously see the game as an opportunity for three more points.
