Liverpool are trying to see if they can get a deal done for exciting young midfielder Assan Ouedraogo in the January transfer window.
17-year-old Ouedraogo is emerging as one of the very top talents in Germany right now and he is already a regular for Schalke 04, alerting Liverpool and others.
And according to TeamTalk, a number of clubs, including Liverpool, have now made a first move to try and snap up Ouedraogo.
Liverpool touch base over signing Assan Ouedraogo
According to TeamTalk, RB Leipzig are trying to steal a march on Liverpool and the youngster and his agents have already travelled to hold talks with the Red Bull owned club.
However, it’s also stated in the report that Liverpool have indeed made contact with Ouedraogo’s agents as well. It’s suggested the Reds are exploring if a deal would be possible

Indeed, it’s reported that a bid in the region of just £15m might even be enough to get Schalke to do business for the ‘explosive‘ teenager.
At that price, Liverpool would have no issues in finding the money. It will purely come down to player preference and the structure of that £15m.
Ouedraogo looks the business
Liverpool have plenty of young talent in their squad as it is and there are even more coming through the ranks as well.
However, it’s clear that Ouedraogo is a talent worth noting and there’s a good reason why so many clubs want to take him from Schalke.
If it is Liverpool who win the race here, then it’s yet another top youngster into the Premier League.
Whether or not the Reds can indeed get the deal done from afar remains to be seen. But if they do rate him as much as Klopp apparently does, then the £15m won’t be an issue come January.
