Liverpool looked at signing ‘really good’ Aston Villa player last year

Liverpool have been linked with a number of wingers in recent times as they look to plan ahead for life without Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian continues to be linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, and while it’s painful to hear, the Reds will have to start to think about what life without Salah is going to look like.

The Merseyside club have been linked with a number of wingers, with Johan Bakayoko said to be one player Liverpool are keen on.

Interestingly, speaking on KS1 TV, Steve Kay has claimed that Liverpool looked at Jaden Philogene at one point last year amid a remarkable season with Hull City.

According to Kay, Liverpool looked at the new Aston Villa star.

“The kid you are talking about there (Philogene). He was looked at by Liverpool going back, last year. It never turned out. He was linked towards Barcelona as well, but I don’t know what that was about. He’s meant to be a really good player,” Kay said.

Philogene looks like a top talent

Liverpool looked at Philogene last year, and they may actually live to regret not going after him.

Indeed, the winger looks like the real deal, and he could well be the next player to become a Premier League star after shining in the Championship.

Much like Jarrod Bowen, who, coincidentally is one of Jurgen Klopp’s favourite players, Philogene was incredible for Hull City, and now, he could be a star for Villa.

Liverpool are said to be looking at other talents from the Championship as Crysencio Summerville has been linked with a move to Anfield, and that may be the way forward for the Reds as they look to replenish the attacking talent in their side.

Philogene looks like he could be a star, and Villa appear to have got a really good deal here in re-signing the winger.
