Liverpool linked with Saint-Maximin who Klopp lauded back in April
Liverpool have been linked with Saint-Maximin.
The Frenchman is a seriously good winger and one who has previously garnered compliments from Jurgen Klopp.
This week it was reported that Everton, Chelsea and Liverpool all want to sign the player (Calciomercato).
The touted fee for the Frenchman is a massive £70m, which will make this a difficult deal for anyone to do.
However, Klopp has previously spoken in glowing terms about the player.
Back in April, the Liverpool managed described Saint-Maximin as a ‘proper player’.
“Saint-Maximin is a proper footballer, he was injured and that was a blow but along with Joelinton they play really well together.”
“Wilson isn’t even on the pitch so if he starts that is not a big drop I would say.”
Klopp is clearly keen on the £70k-a-week star, who signed a new contract last year doubling his wages until 2026 (The Chronicle).
The Reds have some fantastic wide attacking options, but Saint-Maximin would fit in nicely.
The Frenchman would be able to learn from the likes of Sadio Mane and Mo Salah.

Goalscoring is not what he’s best at, but under the tutelage of Klopp he could start to find the net more often.
It would cost a lot of money to bring the Newcastle man to Anfield.
Yet it could be worth every penny if Klopp is able to get the best out of him.
He’s clearly one who Klopp is willing to take a punt on given his admiration for the player.
It will be an interesting build up to the January transfer to window now.
Speculation may continue to snowball between now and the transfer window.
Come January, though, this may look like a deal too good not to do.
