It was a great day at the office for Liverpool on Wednesday as Jurgen Klopp’s charges ran out 2-1 winners over Spurs at Anfield to go top of the Premier League table.

The Reds took the lead in the 26th minute through Mohamed Salah, whose first-time strike took a deflection off Toby Alderweireld and looped into the top corner of the Spurs goal.

However, Spurs were level seven minutes later against the run of play, as a counter-attack saw Giovani Lo Celso release Son Heung-min, who duly slotted past Alisson Becker.

The visitors were much improved after the break but Liverpool held on before netting the winner in the 90th minute, Andrew Robertson’s cross headed home by Roberto Firmino.

During the game, Trent Alexander-Arnold delivered a superb piece of skill as the ball came his way, with Son Heung-min looking to put pressure on him.

The Liverpool defender calmly controlled the ball and nutmegged his opponent in the process before going past him and passing the ball on.

And Gary Lineker was blown away by Alexander-Arnold’s skill, sharing Liverpool’s video clip of the moment on his Twitter feed and joking that such a move is “illegal”:

Up next for Liverpool is Saturday’s 12:30pm kickoff at Crystal Palace.
