Many Liverpool fans would have expected a deal for Thiago Alcantara to be wrapped up by now after links surfaced earlier this summer.
Plenty of time has passed, and even the Champions League final, which Thiago was busy starring in, is now long gone.
There are some Reds fans out there who are starting to worry a move for Thiago might not actually come to fruition.

There has been added alarm in recent days, with Liverpool’s bitter rivals Manchester United reportedly (Bild, via Daily Star) joining the chase for the Spanish maestro.
The former Barcelona metronome only has a year remaining on his contract and is on the market for a ‘fair’ transfer fee in the words of Bayern Munich.
It is thought that fee is about £23 million (Daily Mail) which, for a player of Thiago’s quality, is utterly tantalising, one would think.
For some reason though, Liverpool are reportedly reluctant to pay, and the Reds really are playing a very dangerous game.
TBR’s view – Thiago another Werner?
If Liverpool allow Manchester United to steal in, all hell is going to break loose with the supporters.

The Reds faithful have already watched Timo Werner go to Chelsea when it looked for all the world he would move to Anfield.
Thiago to United, plus a couple of other smart additions, could actually turn the Red Devils into title contenders.
Liverpool can’t be seen to be helping rivals challenge them, and this stubborn approach over Thiago surely needs to stop before it’s too late.
Letting United sign Thiago would leave a stain on their near-immaculate recent performance in the transfer market.
Signings, sales – the Reds haven’t got many things wrong over the past couple of years, but not signing the world-class Thiago for a bargain fee and letting a rival in would be indefensible.
