Liverpool legend Phil Thompson aims cheeky dig at Jose Mourinho on Twitter

Liverpool cruised to a stunning 7-0 win over Crystal Palace today and former defender, Phil Thompson, has used it as the perfect opportunity to have a cheeky dig at Jose Mourinho.

The Reds were in scintillating form to build on last week’s win over Spurs at Anfield. The likes of Bobby Firmino and Mo Salah once again excelled, with Palace unable to offer anything in response.

And there was no chance this week for the opposition manager, as Mourinho had done, to make out that the best team actually lost the game.

Thompson, then, picked up on that and took to his Twitter account to aim a tongue-in-cheek comment in the direction of Mourinho.

Of course, there’ll be no malice from Thompson here given how we’ve watched him go about his business over the years on Sky’s Soccer Saturday.

But he clearly could’t resist the chance to have a little pop at the Spurs boss, as he revelled in Liverpool’s latest glory.

This sort of stuff is always great to see and Kris Boyd did similar the other week when Rangers won and Celtic once again lost in Scotland.

Mourinho won’t mind this sort of thing either. His team are doing just fine and he’ll appreciate having caused a bit of a stir in all honesty given how he’s played mind games in the past.
