Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has hinted that the duo of Divock Origi and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could both leave the club if that’s what the players want to do.

Origi is out of contract in six months, while Oxlade-Chamberlain has 18 months to run on his deal. Both players are squad players for the Reds, albeit both have played key roles recently.

According to Spotrac, the duo’s wages come in at just below the £10m-a-year mark. And speaking ahead of this weekend’s clash with Tottenham Reds boss Jurgen Klopp admitted he won’t stand in a player’s way if they do wish to depart Anfield.

It is not just about the two players you mention. We will not stay together forever. That is how it is,” Klopp said, as relayed by The Mirror.

“If someone wants to go somewhere else we have to find a solution for it. If we want to find somebody from another club we have to find a solution for it.”

The Reds had a similar problem with Gini Wijnaldum last season. The Dutch star ran his contract down and left for nothing to join PSG. Liverpool, then, will be keen to avoid a repeat.

TBR’s View: Liverpool Should Sell Oxlade-Chamberlain In The Summer

While it’s probably widely accepted that Origi is on his way, the same can’t be said about Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The former Arsenal man has only done it in fits and starts since signing for the club. At £35m, the Reds will feel they’ve not quite had the return on the investment they’d like.

For now, The Ox is a useful squad player. But Liverpool have young talent emerging, so if they can sell and then bring someone new in during the summer, then it might be best for everyone involved.
