Liverpool are yet to add a senior player to their ranks this summer, much to the frustration of some supporters of the club.

The Catalans see the Italian as an ideal understudy for Jordi Alba and have switched their focus.

That could pave the way for Liverpool to complete a deal for Firpo.

Signing the 22-year-old would be a quality piece of business.

The fact that he can play left-back and on the left-wing would make him almost like signing two new players.

Firpo would cost Liverpool £54 million due to the buyout clause in his contract.

For a player who can essentially do the job of two players, that makes him a steal and Jurgen Klopp would be wise to pounce.

After a sticky pre-season period some Liverpool fans have grown concerned with how the season might pan out.
