Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has told the club’s official website that he is blessed to work with James Milner.
The 33-year-old has returned to pre-season training in outstanding shape and looks set to be an important part of the Liverpool team again next season.
Milner drew a comparison to ex-Dortmund midfielder Sebastian Kehl from Klopp, in the way that Milner helps the younger members of the team.
The midfielder played in 45 games last season, scoring seven goals and registering seven assists.

Klopp has nothing but praise for the experienced performer.
He told the club’s official website: “I was blessed to have a few players like this; Sebastian Kehl, for example, at Dortmund was a more experienced player in a very young team. He was the leader like Millie is.
“He has improved his football a lot in the last two or three years as well. His attitude is outstanding.
“We have so many leaders in the team: Hendo of course, Millie, of course, Gini, Virg, all these guys, they are in different ways all leaders.
“In pre-season, Millie looks again like he’s in his 20s. He isn’t of course, he knows that and we will respect that.”
TBR Verdict
Milner is clearly still rated very highly by his boss – and rightly so!
To get through as many games as he did last season and still contribute is a testament to how the player looks after himself.

He has done a job in a number of positions under Klopp and has never let anyone down.
It looks as though the 33-year-old still has a big part to play next season
