Liverpool have been crowned Premier League champions after Chelsea surprised Manchester City to win 2-1 on Thursday night – and a whole host of Anfield icons have reacted, including Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have been made to wait. Sitting comfortably at the top of the tree for the majority of the season, the global health crisis stopped Premier League football for three months.
But upon the return, Liverpool have taken four points from their opening two matches – most recently a stunning 4-0 win over Crystal Palace. It saw Manchester City tasked with having to beat Chelsea on Thursday.

Christian Pulisic, though, had other ideas. He gave Chelsea the lead and although Kevin De Bruyne equalised with a stunning free-kick, Raheem Sterling could only hit the post when one-on-one.
Late on, Chelsea secured three points as Fernandinho handled on the line – and Willian scored the resulting penalty. Videos of Liverpool’s players have emerged on social media celebrating after Willian’s penalty.
It sees Liverpool claim their first Premier League trophy, and their first top-flight title for 30 years. A whole host of ex-heroes have responded, including Gerrard, Torres, Pepe Reina, Ryan Babel and more.
