Report: Liverpool now want to sign 'fantastic' attacking player as well as Diaz before Monday's deadline
Liverpool might be close to wrapping up a deal to bring in Porto forward Luis Diaz this month, but they are also hoping to put the finishing touches on a deal to bring in Fabio Carvalho from Fulham, too.
The Reds have been tracking Carvalho for a while now, alongside a host of other PL clubs. 90Min has claimed that the likes of Tottenham, Arsenal, Southampton, and Leeds have all been keeping tabs on Carvalho. However, 90Min have claimed that it is indeed Liverpool who are set to win out.
It’s claimed that while Fulham have a reluctance to do a deal this month thanks to their battle for promotion back to the top flight, Liverpool are looking to get things over the line ahead of Monday. There is also an acceptance from the Cottagers that this might be their chance to land decent money for the teenager.
Carvalho, 19, has been instrumental for Fulham this season. Labelled ‘fantastic’ by his manager Marco Silva, the youngster has been among the goals and assists all season. Capable of playing as a number ten or in the wide areas if needed, he fits the profile of young player Liverpool look for.
TBR’s View: Liverpool Acting Late And Smart
If Liverpool can get deals for Diaz and Carvalho over the line, then you’d have to say it’s a job well done from the Reds.
In a window where not much was tipped to happen, Liverpool will end up with two players who are more than capable of making a real difference in the final third. Carvalho, in particular, is one for the future and an exciting prospect indeed.
The Fulham youngster has all the talent in the world and has already proven himself at Championship level. Just like Harvey Elliott, Carvalho will be keen to prove he can do it on the biggest stage.
