Liverpool youngster Herbie Kane is set to earn himself a Championship shot next season, with Brentford and Millwall vying for his loan services, according to Goal.
The 20-year-old enjoyed a superb season in League One with Doncaster Rovers last season. He netted seven goals and registered 10 assists as Grant McCann’s side reached the play-offs.
A central midfielder, the report suggests that Hibernian are also keen, although a Championship switch looks more favourable.
Kane is a box-to-box midfield player and featured in a number of midfield roles during his spell at the Keepmoat Stadium.
The Liverpool academy man has risen through the ranks at Anfield but has failed to make his first-team debut yet.
Both Brentford (11th) and Millwall (21st) will hope to improve on last season’s fortunes when the season gets underway again in August.
Kane highlighted massive potential last season during his spell with Doncaster in League One.
The midfield maestro showed a mature head on young shoulders which should put him in good shape for the Championship.
Brentford, in particular, would suit Kane. Boss Thomas Frank tried to get his side playing attractive football last season and the Liverpool man would relish that style.
It is perhaps unlikely that Kane will ever get a chance in the first-team at Anfield.
If he does stand even a remote chance, however, he will need to set the Championship alight next season.
