Liverpool have 'the reincarnation of Coutinho' in their ranks, Klopp must take a closer look - TBR View
With the international break sadly upon us, this means Liverpool won’t be in competitive action until 16 October.
This means Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will have a good opportunity to look at some fringe players and youth talents in training.
One academy star who Klopp needs to take a closer look at has made waves at Kirkby in recent months and has earned comparisons with Philippe Coutinho.
That player is Mateusz Musialowski, a 17-year-old attacking ace who joined the Liverpool academy from Lodz in August 2020.
Musialowski has made 34 age-level appearances for the Reds, registering an impressive 14 goals and three assists.
Last season, he registered 12 goals and three assists from 25 Under-18 appearances.
Liverpool rewarded Musialowski by promoting him to the Under-23s this term, with five appearances and two goals under his belt so far.
Musialowski has mostly on the left wing for the Reds but can play anywhere across the front line as well as in an attacking midfield role.
And his efforts have led to high praise from Liverpool fans:
@LFC please get this kid A.S.A.P in the LIVERPOOL senior squad. 17 year old POLE MATEUSZ MUSIALOWSKI. Don’t buy any midfielders.Let him play his own way not LIVERPOOL way.He will be 10 times better then Coutinho is now under KLOPP.He plays in the under 18 squad. Our new wonderkid. pic.twitter.com/HqqkcsPUCv— LFC STAMINA MONSTERS™ (@LfcMonsters) March 19, 2021

Yes lots of potential— Jude (@lfcjude9) September 15, 2021
While it’s too soon for him to be getting senior minutes, Klopp should promote him to first-team training this international break and keep a close eye on him.
