Liverpool have long been linked with the signature of USA winger Christian Pulisic. The 20-year-old has now given Liverpool reason to be excited over a potential deal. Speaking to the media this week he has made it clear he would be open to an eventual move to the Premier League.
The USA international, who spent a year in Oxfordshire as a child, is out of contract in 2020 and has long been a Liverpool target.
“England, the Premier League, is a league where lots of kids dream of playing so there is no reason why maybe one day I won’t play here.”
Jurgen Klopp has openly spoken of his admiration for the player, who he, of course, knows from his time at the German club. Pulisic was just a youngster at the time, but Klopp was fully aware of his potential.

In the summer, it was reported that £65 million was the price to lure him away from Dortmund. Since then, Jadon Sancho has emerged and overtaken the American whilst his contract situation also makes negotiations possible.
“I like Christian, I’ve known him since he was a kid. He’s still not really old, he’s a fantastic player, and it’s deserved people think highly of him in America. In Germany, it’s the same. If he wants to play in England or whatever one day then for sure he has the chance to do so but he’s at a really good club for his development at this moment.”
However, the London Evening Standard has reported such interest to have ‘cooled’.
Tomorrow night he will be expected to lead the USA to glory at Wembley. Many Liverpool fans will have heard of Pulisic but perhaps not had the chance to see him play. Tomorrow night they will potentially get to see him do battle with both Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold in the England defence.
If he can showcase why he is such a precocious talent against two of Liverpool’s current crop, then this apparent ‘cooled’ interest may heat up again.
