Liverpool completed their pre-season preparations with a 3-1 victory over Lyon last night. Goals from Roberto Firmino, a Joachim Andersen own goal and Harry Wilson saw the Reds finish on a high.
It hasn’t been a pre-season campaign to remember for Jurgen Klopp, with his team winless in four fixtures prior to last night’s win.
That won’t bother the German, however. He has been missing Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Alisson through their international commitments.

Sunday will see Liverpool take on Manchester City in the Community Shield and Wembley. Klopp will hope for another piece of silverware and the game could see another chance for several of the club’s youngsters.
One man who has impressed during the last couple of games is youngster Harvey Elliott.
The 16-year-old recently arrived from Fulham and has been given a couple of cameo appearances in the pre-season fixtures.

Typically a right-winger the early signs are good as far as Elliott’s quality goes.
