Reports in The Sun, indicate that Liverpool could make a move for Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart with Jurgen Klopp not convinced by either Simon Mignolet or summer signing Loris Karius. Hart is desperate for a permanent move to keep him in the Premier League, but believes that Champions League football is a vital factor in choosing where to go.

Neither Mignolet nor Karius has covered themselves in glory so far this season, but doubts remain over whether Klopp would move to bring another goalkeeper in. Such a move would undoubtedly cast doubt over the future of both players, although it’s clear that defensive improvements are needed for the Reds.

Another man on his way to Anfield is Serbian Lazar Markovic, who could make an early return to Merseyside after spending the first half of the season on loan at Sporting Lisbon in Portugal, say Record. The 22-year-old has played just five minutes of league action since October for his new club and both sides are happy to end the loan early.

Despite an unimpressive spell at Liverpool to date, he would be welcomed back with open arms. With Sadio Mane away at the African Cup of Nations and little depth out wide, Markovic could offer an important option which may allow Adam Lallana to drop back into midfield.

Lallana himself is subject to plenty of interest, though, as the Times claim that PSG are readying themselves to test the Reds’ resolve by making a bid for the England international as they consider him as a potential summer target.

One of the stars of this campaign, the former Southampton midfielder has been transformed under Jurgen Klopp and is enjoying the best form of his life. The Reds understandably are desperate to see him stay at the club and will be keen to fend off any interest from France or elsewhere.
