The reigning champions of Europe, Liverpool, will take on Manchester City on Sunday in the Community Shield at Wembley Stadium.
Pre-season hasn’t really gone according to plan for Jurgen Klopp’s team as far as results are concerned. Prior to Wednesday’s win over Lyon, the Reds had gone four friendly games without a win.
Klopp’s big guns have now returned from their international commitments, however. Alisson, Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane are now back among the squad.
The Community Shield might allow for some of the club’s youngster to continue to stake their claim for a place in the team, however. One of those is Harry Wilson.

The 22-year-old scored a scrumptious goal against Lyon earlier this week and has featured prominently during pre-season.
He has been linked with a £25 million move away from Anfield, however. Newcastle and Bournemouth are both keen on his services, according to the Liverpool Echo.
Having not signed any players for their senior ranks this summer, Liverpool supporters will be hoping to see Wilson graduate into the academy next season.
The forward excelled at Derby during 2018/19, scoring a memorable goal against Manchester United in the EFL Cup and helping the Rams to the Play-Off Final.

The City game on Sunday could provide him with one final acid test before the proper stuff gets underway.
Given Wilson’s ability and potential to improve and a lack of summer signings at Anfield, Klopp could do a lot worse than hand Wilson the chance to be part of his squad in 2019/20.
