Liverpool handed big boost before Manchester United clash, Klopp will be buzzing - TBR View
Liverpool are set to lock horns with Manchester United this weekend in one of the most highly anticipated fixtures in the Premier League.
Jurgen Klopp’s charges head to Old Trafford in great form – they’re still unbeaten this season and have won their last two matches.
Both Liverpool and United won their Champions League games in midweek by a 3-2 scoreline.
However, Sunday’s hosts haven’t been in great form over the past few weeks.
They’ve lost four of their last eight in all competitions and have gone four games without a win in the league.
Now, it looks as though Klopp has just been handed a major boost in the shape of Curtis Jones’ return to fitness.
“Just what’s clear is that Curtis will train today with us the full session, that’s the plan,” the Liverpool boss said on Friday.
“And Thiago not. So, these are the two things I know for the moment.”
The Reds midfielder was already nursing a groin injury when he played for England Under-21s against Andorra.
He exacerbated the issue and was forced to miss his club’s 5-0 win at Watford last weekend.
However, Jones is back in full training on Friday and should now be in contention against the Red Devils.
The 20-year-old midfielder has risen through the ranks at Anfield and has come such a long way in the last couple of years.
Jones delivered arguably his best Reds performance a few weeks ago, playing a part in all five of the visitors’ goals in the Champions League win at Porto.
It remains to be seen whether Klopp will start Jones at Old Trafford, but you’d think the Anfield diamond is likely to play a role at some point in the match.
