Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has described Jurgen Klopp as “one of the best managers in the world”, the club’s official website reports. Speaking during a press conference on international duty, the Republic of Ireland U21 goalkeeper praised Klopp’s man-management in particular.

Kelleher referenced the unity and togetherness in the Liverpool squad and put that down to Klopp’s good work. He believes he is learning from one of the best with the German as his manager.

With quotes via liverpoolfc.com, Kelleher said: “He’s probably one of the best managers in the world, so it can only be a good thing being with him every day. He’s very good at man-management – you can see that in the way that all the players get along with him and even the players who aren’t playing or not in squads.

“He makes everyone feel a part of it, makes everyone feel like they’re making a difference to the team. He’s very good.”

Kelleher is yet to make his first-team debut for Liverpool but he has been in and around the squad. The 20-year-old has worked with Alisson and was part of Klopp’s pre-season plans after recovering from injury.

TBR’s view

Kelleher is an exciting young talent who could be a long-term option for Liverpool between the sticks. Already in his short career, he has shown that he has the qualities to become a top goalkeeper in the future.

But he knows he has to learn. In Klopp, he has an enthusiastic manager willing to give Kelleher plenty of coaching on and off the field. It will certainly help his game to have Klopp as manager.
