Liverpool fans wowed by Ki-Jana Hoever as Dutchman makes full debut for Wolves

Ki-Jana Hoever made his full debut for Wolves last night – and his performance was lapped up by Liverpool fans on social media.

The Dutchman was brought in to start against Manchester United at right wing-back at Old Trafford, with big-money signing Nelson Semedo rested.

The youngster has had to be patient since moving to Molineux from Anfield, which happened as part of the deal that saw Diogo Jota move to Merseyside.

But he got the nod from Nuno Espirito Santo last night, and definitely justified his selection.

Hoever was solid going up against Marcus Rashford and gave the England international very little on the night.

Rashford turned eventual match-winner, but there was nothing Hoever could do from where he was on the pitch in relation to the 23-year-old, whose effort deflected in off Romain Saiss.

Not only did Hoever contain Rashford well, but he also provided good support going forwards, although Wolves were stung by the lack of a target man up top.

Despite the cruel 1-0 defeat for Wolves, Hoever could hold his head high – and some Liverpool fans took to Twitter after the game.

Many lauded the £40,000-a-week star’s (Spotrac) performance, with some even questioning the decision to let him go:
