A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to suggest that they would love to see Pedro Neto signed in the summer following his outstanding performance in Wolves’ 2-1 win over Southampton on Sunday.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s men looked to be in big trouble at half-time. They had struggled to contain the home side during the first-half and found themselves 1-0 down.
However, the visitors were superb after the break. Ruben Neves equalised from the spot before Neto scored the winning goal with an outrageous run and finish.

The 20-year-old collected the ball out wide towards the edge of the box. He then took a sumptuous touch around Jannik Vestergaard having already chopped back once, before rifling an effort past Alex McCarthy and finding the inside netting on the far post.
Along with Adama Traore, Neto appeared to be Wolves’ biggest threat throughout the second-half.
As shown by Whoscored.com, he made three key passes. That was more than anyone else on the pitch.
And his performance did not escape the attention of many Liverpool fans on social media.

The Reds are obviously going through a tricky period right now. And some supporters may be hoping that Jurgen Klopp oversees some significant changes in the summer.
There seems to be a feeling on social media that players such as Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi should be replaced at the end of the campaign.
And for some, adding Neto to the ranks would be an inspired piece of business. In fact, a couple have suggested that he should be the long-term successor to Mohamed Salah on Merseyside. One fan even compared Neto’s masterful goal to something Luis Suarez would have done for the Reds.
Just four players have made a greater number of key passes than Neto in the Premier League this season (via Whoscored). And in total, he now boast five goals and four assists for Wolves in the top flight.
At 20 years of age, there is every reason to think that he could be playing at the highest level for years to come. The frightening thought is that he should get even better in the near future.
Like Liverpool, Wolves have seen arguably their most important player sidelined due to a long-term injury this season.
But Neto has really stepped up in the absence of Raul Jimenez. And given his ability to play across the forward line, as well as in a slightly deeper role, you could understand why so many Liverpool fans would seem him as the perfect addition to their ranks in the summer.
He will certainly not come cheap. Neto signed a new contract in November that is set to keep him at Molineux at 2025. According to Spotrac, he is on £50,000-a-week.
But Liverpool caught many off-guard by signing Diogo Jota earlier on this season. And some clearly believe that landing Neto would be a huge statement of intent about Liverpool’s plans for the future.
With that in mind, here is what some of the Reds fans were saying about Neto following his display in Wolves’ win on the south coast on Sunday…
