Liverpool fans want Wijnaldum to move on after latest comments
Liverpool fans adore Georginio Wijnaldum but they want him to move on.
The Dutchman has been talking about his summer exit from Anfield as he joined PSG on a free transfer.
He was subject of a huge love-in from Jurgen Klopp upon his exit.
The Liverpool manager described him as ‘a Liverpool legend now and forever’ (club website).
Those were certainly strong words, but it seems that Wijnaldum hasn’t been able to fully move on from Anfield.
Speaking to L’Equipe (via Goal), he spoke about how he didn’t believe Liverpool wanted to keep him at the end of his time with the club.
The fans, though, just want to see him move on.
Thiago Alcantara has stepped up to fill the void left by the Dutchman.
They’re all doing a good job of moving on, and they just want him to do the same.
Wijnaldum spent five seasons at Anfield so it’s always difficult to take on change after such a long time, but it’s apart of football.
He’s been lucky to be able to sign for a super club in PSG.
Over the course of his three year deal in Paris he’ll play with some of the greatest players in the world.
The likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe will share a pitch with Wijnaldum.
The Liverpool fans will no doubt keep an eye out for their former man, but their priority is very much there own matches.
A lot of them have even hit back at the Wijnaldum comments, urging him to get over his exit.
