Liverpool fans want to sign Pedro Neto after his latest Wolves performance

Pedro Neto produced a match-winning performance for Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday night at Molineux – and some Liverpool fans gave an excited response on Twitter to it with some suggesting he’d be a great future signing for them.

The 20-year-old attacker scored a 95th minute winner for Wolves during a 2-1 home victory over Chelsea last night, as they secured a much-needed three points in the Premier League fixture to lift them up to 10th in the table.

He netted a superb left-footed finish into the bottom corner after Wolves hit Chelsea on the counter-attack, with the youngster squaring up defender Kurt Zouma on the edge of the box and showing real sharpness in the final stages of the match to make room for his clinical shot.

Liverpool know all about talented individuals from Wolves following the success of attacker Diogo Jota this season since his switch from Molineux to Anfield in the summer and it looks like Reds supporters now have their eyes on another talent at their Premier League rivals.

Neto, who joined Wolves back in August 2019 from Liga Nos club Braga, is an extremely highly-rated talent at the West Midlands club and he’s now managed to make himself a regular in their starting XI.

He’s a versatile attacker that can play anywhere across the frontline, but is so effective operating from the left flank and he’s got a raw pace that is a nightmare for full-backs to try contend with.

The senior Portugal international has scored four goals in 13 league games already this season as his development increases at a rapid speed, with neutrals now starting to be aware of his talents.

Most of the Wolves fanbase have been banging his drum since his arrival over a year ago, but the fact he’s now starting to perform in the top-flight means the spotlight will grow on him and it will be intriguing to see how he deals with that kind of pressure moving forward.

Aged 20, his potential seems unreal and surely big teams will be aware of his name.

A selection of Liverpool supporters on social media have singled him out as a target for the future, which on paper looks like a great fit for the Merseyside club.

It seemed impossible last summer that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp could find a way to improve his starting XI in an attacking sense, but the arrival of Jota has done just that and the injection of some fresh blood has raised levels around the squad.

Neto is certainly in the right place at the moment to grow as a Premier League player and develop under Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo, but it looks like he’s got a lot of the tools needed to fit into the Liverpool system with his work-rate, tenacity, pace and flair.

He’s one of the rising stars making a name for himself in the English division and Wolves have so many talented Portuguese stars in their ranks, including the likes of Ruben Neves and Daniel Podence as well.
