Liverpool earned a comfortable 4-1 win away at FC Porto on Wednesday night to progress into the Champions League semi-finals – and one Porto player has impressed Liverpool fans.
Sadio Mane opened the scoring, sliding in a Mo Salah pass that VAR had to check. Salah himself made it two in the second half, being played through on goal and finishing neatly past Iker Casillas.
Porto got one back, but Roberto Firmino put the game beyond doubt, heading home after an excellent cross from captain Jordan Henderson. Virgil van Dijk scored a fourth from a corner.

But it was Porto defender Eder Militao that caught the attention of Liverpool fans, with the versatile defender impressing throughout and scoring Porto’s only goal with a powerful header.
Militao is only 21 years of age, but has been a regular in Porto’s side this season. Playing on the right side of the defence or centre-back, Militao has already earned a Brazil cap – and scored five goals this term.
Liverpool fans took to Twitter after the match, and Militao was the talk of many Liverpool fans. It is unsurprising, then, that the youngster is joining Real Madrid at the end of the season for £43million (Goal).
