Liverpool host Manchester United on Sunday at Anfield – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have suggested that Takumi Minamino should get his Premier League debut.
Jurgen Klopp’s team go into the weekend 14 points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand and have won 20 out of 21 league matches so far.
But the only time this campaign they have dropped points was in the reverse fixate with Manchester United, as the teams played out a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.
The Merseyside giants appear to be storming towards the title at a canter, but the fixture against rivals Manchester United will always be a huge one.
A selection of Liverpool supporters on social media have claimed they want to see January signing Minamino get a chance at the weekend.
They signed him for a bargain £7.25million (BBC) from Red Bull Salzburg in January and made his club debut in the FA Cup third round win over neighbours Everton.
Klopp left the 25-year-old on the bench during the last game against Tottenham in the league, but there are some who want to see him involved against Manchester United.
Minamino was directly involved in 20 goals in just 22 games for Austrian giants Salzburg this season before his exit and is an exciting Japanese talent.
But the attacking midfielder has a lot of competition now for a spot in the team following his transfer and may need to bide his time.
Here are some Liverpool fans on Minamino:
