Liverpool fans want Kostas Tsimikas to start against Atalanta
A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to implore Jurgen Klopp to hand Kostas Tsimikas his first Champions League start when the Reds face Atalanta on Wednesday.
Liverpool are in a fantastic position in their group with three games remaining. Victory over the Serie A side this week will secure their spot in the knockout stages of the competition.

And they go into the tie off the back of a hugely impressive 3-0 victory at the weekend. However, it is well-documented that Klopp has had a number of problems to contend with in recent times.
Liverpool have lost several key players to injury – particularly in defence. So it would make sense to many if Klopp decided to rotate his options at the back for tonight’s game.

And with that, many are hoping that Tsimikas is handed a rare opportunity. The 24-year-old has made just two appearances for the Reds since his summer move.
One of those games came in the reverse fixture when he came off the bench. But plenty feel that he should start to hand Andrew Robertson a much-needed rest following the international break.
Resting Robertson obviously appears to be a gamble. But of course, Tsimikas is no stranger to the competition. So it looks like a fantastic opportunity to get a better look at him.
With games coming thick and fast over the coming weeks, Tsimikas – who earns £60,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – is surely going to be needed on a number of occasions.
And with Liverpool set to remain in pole position in their group whatever happens on Wednesday, using him against Atalanta seems to be as good a time as any to increase his workload.
Here is what some of the Reds fans were saying about Tsimikas ahead of the clash…
Really wanna see Tsimikas given a run tomorrow night.
About time we saw more of him and give Robbo a bit of well deserved rest.#LFC

I’m looking forward to seeing the likes of Tsimikas, Rhys and Minamino tomorrow night in a low pressure game but against quality opposition. #LFC

I’m hoping Tsimikas starts tomorrow

Klopp also complained about the schedule, so it’s likely that he will rest a few players. I’d like to see Tsimikas given a chance at left-back.

Probs. Seems very logical to put minutes in Tsimikas’ legs tomorrow so hope he’s involved. Gotta share that workload out.

I’d like to see Tsimikas get a full 90 tomorrow. Think it would be wise to rest Robbo. I’d also be intrigued to see if Minamino starts…could be quite an exciting front 3 of Diogo, Taki & Mo. Really want to see more from Minamino.

I’d still play Jota, when someone is that on form, don’t rock the boat, run with it, keep his confidence sky high.
Let Diogo have an hour to bag a goal, then send Mo on when the Italians are tiring.
Hopefully Tsimikas gets a good shift out there too, Minamino as well.
