Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has claimed in his pre-Sheffield United press conference – as per the Liverpool Echo – that he will not discuss whether James Milner is to get a new deal at Anfield – and Liverpool fans cannot make up their mind.
Milner, 33, scored for Liverpool in the week as the Reds beat MK Dons to progress into the Carabao Cup fourth round. ki Jana-Hoever got the other goal as Liverpool cruised to a 2-0 win away from home.
It was Milner’s 185th appearance for the Reds, as he continues to shine in red despite his ever-increasing age. He also boasts versatility, showing enough quality to play on either side of the defence and in his natural position of central midfield.
Indeed, Klopp stated Milner still has a few years left in his professional career and described him as “Mr Professional”, before stating that he would not discuss whether Milner would be offered a new deal – with his current one expiring in the summer.

“Millie is unbelievably important. He’s Mr Professional. He’s a role model. He looks like he’s got a few more years in the locker. We don’t talk about contract situations here,” Klopp said during his press conference.
Milner has enormous experience, with Premier League titles under his belt from his time at Manchester City and 521 top-tier appearances to his name – which sees him sit in sixth place in the all-time Premier League appearance rankings.
Liverpool fans reacted on Twitter in their drones to the news that Milner could be about to receive an extended stay at Anfield, but the majority of supporters could not decide on his future – some want him to stay, while some think it is time to leave.
