Liverpool have cruised into the League Cup final after making light work of Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Thursday night.
The Reds were trailing 1-0 after the first leg but it quickly became clear that they were intent on making amends.
Liverpool winger Cody Gakpo opened the scoring in the 34th minute of a first half that was virtually all one-way traffic.
Mohamed Salah then scored a penalty early on in the second half to turn the tie around before Dominik Szoboszlai and Virgil van Dijk made sure of victory.
A number of Liverpool fans said that one of their players delivered one of his best performances – if not his very best – in a Reds shirt in the 4-1 aggregate win.

Liverpool fans wowed by Darwin Nunez display v Tottenham
The player in question is Darwin Nunez, who was a constant thorn in Tottenham’s side throughout the game.
Nunez’s overall time at Liverpool continues to split opinion, but his display against Spurs prompted a more unanimous reaction among fans.
One supporter said on X: “Darwin Nunez… welcome to the game. Outstanding performance, his best all-round game tonight.”
Another wrote: “Nunez was class tonight. No goal but was controlled with his aggression, good touches, controlled the ball well and kept it moving.
“One of the best performance I’ve seen from him in his Liverpool career.
The praise kept coming, with one fan saying: “Nunez was very good today, prob his best performance for me. Was involved in everything.”
Another wrote: “Easily Nunez best performance this season (can’t really judge the Brentford game). More of this please.”
One Liverpool fan said: “I think this has been Nunez’s best performance in a long time.
“Only thing he is missing is a goal – else he has been flawless. Confidence is a hell of a thing.”
And another wrote: “This Nunez performance btw…we are witnessing one of his best in a Red shirt.”

Nunez also chipped in defensively, making four clearances and two tackles as Spurs failed to make anything of their set pieces.
Nunez’s confidence is on the up and it’s great to see. Liverpool fans will hope for more of this from the Uruguay international.
