Liverpool fans react to Takumi Minamino’s performance in 2-2 draw at Shrewsbury

The January signing started in attack but struggled at times to link up with his team mates.

Liverpool let a 2-0 lead slip out of their grasp in their fourth round FA Cup tie against League 1 outfit Shrewsbury Town yesterday.

The Reds were in command thanks to a first half Curtis Jones strike – his second in two games in the competition this season – and an own goal by former Manchester United man Donald Love.

But the introduction of Jason Cummings changed the shape of the match and Jurgen Klopp’s side drew 2-2 and face a replay at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp has said he won’t manage the side or play any senior players in that clash at Anfield, despite the fact some senior stars may need gametime.

One of those was Takumi Minamino, who started the game up yesterday up front but struggled to get into the game.

Some Liverpool fans on Twitter felt his team mates were unable to get their heads up and find his runs, with others feeling he needs time to adjust to a new club and country.

There was sympathy among the fans despite the fact Minamino hasn’t set the world alight yet and that’s the right attitude; he needs time to adjust.

Liverpool’s attacking patterns take time to adjust to and there has been more than one player – Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Fabinho and Andy Robertson – who have needed months.
