Roberto Firmino was the match-winner for Brazil in their recent victory over Venezuela – and some Liverpool fans on Twitter reacted with huge positivity about his performance.
Brazil secured a 1-0 win over Venezuela to maintain a 100 per cent record in their South American World Cup qualifying and they face Uruguay next Tuesday.
£29million star Firmino (BBC) scored the winning goal midway through the second-half, as he found space inside the six-yard box and tapped in an easy finish.
The 29-year-old forward has now scored three goals in his last three Brazil appearances and is a key player for his national team.
Meanwhile, the goals have dried up for him in a Liverpool shirt and he’s scored just once in 12 appearances across all competitions so far this season.
With attacker Diogo Jota making a huge impact since his arrival at Anfield, it’s cranked up competition for places in the side and Firmino’s position as a nailed-on starter may now be under threat.
Firmino has been at the heart of Liverpool’s success in the past couple of years to help link up play in the false nine position and be part of a devastating front trio, but his impact on games has diminished of late.

Despite his recent troubles at club level, a selection of Liverpool supporters on social media were encouraging towards Firmino for his international display and still massively rate him.
