Liverpool star Mo Salah will have a scan in Egypt to assess his ankle injury, according to The Times.
Salah is due to fly out to Egypt to team up his international colleagues. Egypt have two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers coming up – against Kenya on Thursday and Comoros on Monday.
But Salah is a doubt for these matches. The 27-year-old aggravated an ankle injury during a challenge with Fernandinho on Sunday. Liverpool won 3-1 and Salah scored a header during the match but he was left in pain after Fernandinho’s tackle.
Scan in Cairo

Salah went to ground clutching his ankle but he played on for most of the game. Later in the match, he was substituted with Joe Gomez entering the field. But now, he will have an ankle scan in Cairo to determine the extent of his injury.
Liverpool fans flocked to social media to share their thoughts on this decision. There were concerns that Salah will be in Egypt and potentially playing through an ankle injury for his country. Here are some tweets discussing the Salah situation.
