According to the Daily Express, Liverpool could be willing to splash the cash on Benfica defender Ruben Dias in the summer.
Liverpool have Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip as their three main central defenders, with Dejan Lovren also at the club providing competition.
The Croatian may well leave in the summer and Liverpool might be on the lookout for some steel at the back.
Dias has a release clause of around £80 million and that could stop some Premier League clubs from entering the race for his signature.
The 22-year-old has played 117 times for Benfica and despite his tender years has 17 caps for Portugal.
Several Premier League clubs are thought to be interested in his signature, although the price will provide the main stumbling block.
The piece cites Manchester City and Tottenham with interest in the player who has come through the youth ranks with the Portuguese giants.
Despite Dias boasting considerable quality, Liverpool fans don’t seem overly convinced by him signing terms at Anfield.
Many have taken to Twitter on the back of today’s reports and dismissed the possibility of him arriving on Merseyside.
Here is a selection of tweets from Liverpool supporters following Dias being linked with a move to the club in the summer.
Better chance we're signing Messi for free

Why would we waste that money when we have 2 of the best already. Better areas to spend on for cover

£80m???? ????I’ve seen the lad play plenty of times. He’s decent but no where near £80m.

Don't see point Gomez, Matip and Loveron are fine and Hoewer from the academy if loveron leaves we should be looking for a versatile fullback who can play both right and left back
