Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will reportedly hand out three Champions League debuts on Wednesday evening – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter are excited about the trio that are set to come into the side.
The Times reports that Billy Koumetio, Jake Cain and Leighton Clarkson are the three Reds academy players that will go straight into the starting line-up during their first taste of European football.
Klopp’s team have already topped their Champions League group with a match to spare, meaning they will be in the top half of the draw for the last-16 of the competition.
But they play away at Danish side FC Midtjylland in a midweek fixture to finalise the group and it looks like the German boss is going to use the opportunity to rest some of his key first-team players.

Despite a spate of injury problems at Anfield this season, Liverpool have continued to be successful and a lot of credit must go to the few individuals from the academy that have filled in as cover.
18-year-old Reds defender Koumetio will reportedly make his first ever senior Liverpool appearance on Wednesday, while for midfielders Cain and Clarkson it will be a first taste of Champions League action.
It makes sense to rest players ahead of a busy December schedule, plus at the same time it’s a big opportunity for some rising stars to make a name for themselves and see even more talent step up to the senior squad.
