Liverpool fans react to performance of Gini Wijnaldum during 2-0 win

Liverpool showed their battling qualities with a 2-0 win over Sheffield United to edge themselves back into contention for a Champions League spot.

The Reds scored twice in the second half through Curtis Jones and a Kean Bryan own goal, claiming a massive three points.

Liverpool had been on an awful run of form and are still in a bit of danger when it comes to a top-four finish.

This win over the Blades will at least give them a bit of confidence that they can now kick on and revive their season.

One man who earnt praise following the contest was Gini Wijnaldum. The midfielder is one of few Liverpool players to avoid injury this season and his form has been good.

The worry for the champions is that the Dutchman is out of contract during the summer and is yet to sign an extension to his £90,000-a-week deal.

At 30, the ex-Newcastle man has plenty left in the tank and was impressive once again during last night’s Bramall Lane assignment.
