Liverpool fans react to performance of Curtis Jones in emphatic under-23 win

Liverpool’s under-23 side romped to a 5-0 victory over Southampton at the club’s academy last night.

Joe Hardy (2), Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott and Liam Millar secured a stunning victory for Neil Critchley’s team.

Many of the players who have played so well for the first-team of late were back to their roots last night.

Jones, Elliott, Neco Williams and Pedro Chirivella have all been called upon by Jurgen Klopp in recent weeks.

The performance of Jones was really eyecatching. He has stood out in recent weeks, most notably for his stunning winner against Everton in the FA Cup.

He was at it again last night with another wonderful strike and fans couldn’t get enough of him on Twitter.

The midfielder looks set for a really bright future in the game. He came on as a substitute against Bournemouth in the Premier League last month and has been used in the cup games.

Jones has been in impressive form for the under-23s this season. He has scored nine goals and registered four assists, playing as either a central midfielder or on the left-wing.
