Liverpool fans react to Nike kit sponsorship confirmation, think they could sign Kylian Mbappe

Liverpool fans have reacted incredibly to the club confirming that Nike will be their kit supplier from the 2020/21 season. The announcement has led to some fans of the Merseyside club suggesting that they could make a move for Kylian Mbappe.

The young star is an official Nike athlete and one of the brands iconic figures. He is seen as a future Ballon D’or winner and a generational talent at just 21-years-old. He was a key part of the France team that won the World Cup and would be an astonishing signing if Liverpool were to somehow pull it off.

Mbappe moved to PSG for a fee in the region of 180 million Euros in 2018, and the Reds would have to potentially stump up even more than that if they were to make a move for the French striker.

There have been no official links with Liverpool yet, but fans have already linked the Nike deal and Mbappe. As Champions League holders and substantial Premier League leaders, the club have to be considered as one of the world’s best once again.

Jurgen Klopp has built a team that is extremely effective all over the pitch and is reaping the rewards of a patient first few years. The majority of the Liverpool team were not bought for large transfer fees and took time to reach the level they are at now.

A move for Mbappe would certainly buck this trend and it is hard to see where he would fit into the club’s front line. This has not stopped some fans jumping to conclusions, however.
