Liverpool winger Mo Salah has not suffered a serious injury, Sky Sports News reports.
Salah has had a scan on an ankle injury sustained late in the Premier League clash with Leicester City on Saturday. It looks like a twisted ankle rather than ligament or bone damage.
The Egypt international hobbled off on Saturday and was replaced by Adam Lallana late in the game. This followed a reckless challenge by Hamza Choudhury – which earned the England U21 midfielder a yellow card.
Salah has been such a vital cog in Jurgen Klopp’s plans so there were initial fears that this could be serious. But, following the scan, it looks like Salah will just need to rest up and it will recover soon.
The 27-year-old has the international break to get fit again. He was already planning to miss Egypt’s friendly with Botswana. And he could be fit in time to face Manchester United after the international break is over.
Liverpool fans took to Twitter to discuss this Salah injury update. Here are some of the best tweets after the scans came back with positive results.
Decent news at least he’ll be forced to rest and recharge those batteries for a crucial few weeks ahead.

Origi or Shaqiri can step in admirably if he is not fit for the next game
