Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp expects a double fitness boost to his squad when they face Manchester United at Anfield tomorrow.
As per Liverpool’s official website, Klopp believes Fabinho and Joel Matip should be back among the squad to host their bitterest rivals.
He said: “Yes, it looks like Joel and Fabinho [will be back]. They trained completely normally yesterday and the day before. So that means they are likely to be in the squad.
“The other three not, but they are getting closer and closer. Dejan, I think, will train 100 per cent from Monday on.
“With the other two [Keita and Milner], I don’t know exactly. I cannot rush it so when somebody tells me they are ready, I take them back in training.”
Liverpool posted the news on their official Twitter feed as well, which got plenty of fans excited ahead of the match against United.
The Reds are favourites to win anyway and the thrill of being so clearly superior to their local rivals is only enhanced by the prospect of two top performers returning to action.
Plenty of fans are absolutely buzzing with the news, which is a major boost to Liverpool’s assault on silverware in 2020.
United shouldn’t derail their oldest rivals’ title hopes in any case, but if the game isn’t quite going to plan, Klopp should have two quality players in reserve to alter the course of it.
